2013 Aston Martin Vanquish officially unveiled

Following a conceptual preview revealed just last month, Aston Martin has announced the production version of the DBS successor – the AM 310 Vanquish.

Design infuence comes from the One-77 supercar as seen in the new waist, elongated side strakes and LED taillights. However, the Vanquish is unmistakably an Aston Martin with its own unique stylings and presence.

The Vanquish is fitted with a revised version of the DBS’ naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12 petrol engine that gains an extra 55hp and 50Nm for a total output of 565hp at 6,750 rpm and a peak torque of 620Nm at 5,500 rpm.

The front-mounted V12, which is positioned 19mm lower than before, drives the rear wheels through the same Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox found in the DBS.

The Vanquish will be offered in either 2+0 or 2+2 seating configurations, with first deliveries to begin in the UK in late 2012.
