May 3, 2016 – One of the fastest cars in World Rally Championship history, the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 1 Group B rally car, can now be yours as it’s going to be auctioned on May 14.
This particular 205 T16 was 1 of 20 Evolution 1 models produced by Peugeot and it was driven by 1981 WRC champion Ari Vatanen to victory in the 1985 Monte Carlo Rally and 1985 Rally Sweden.
The little beast is powered by 345 bhp, 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection coupled to a five-speed manual transmission, and naturally, it’s four-wheel drive.
Vatanen’s Peugeot is fully original, even down to the stickers and tyres, which are the same as when it left Peugeot Talbot Sport 30 years ago. It is expected to fetch more than 1 million euros in the auction that’s taking place in Monaco.
