May 17, 2016 – BMW is dropping the M135i and M235i models this summer and introducing their upgraded replacements, the M140i and M240i.
The M140i and M240i will be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 340 horsepower, which is a 14 hp increase in maximum output over their predecessors, the M135i/M235i. This means quicker acceleration: 0-100 km/h now takes 4.8 seconds with the manual gearbox, 4.6 seconds with the automatic transmission and 4.4 seconds in all-wheel-drive guise.
It’s worth mentioning that the new M140i and M240i now offer the same output levels as the 1 Series M Coupe built between 2011 and 2012.
