February 3, 2015 – Ford has officially revealed today its all-new Focus RS hot hatch, ahead of its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015.
The Focus RS is equipped with a special 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged engine engineered to produce well in excess of 320hp; the powerful unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
The all-new Focus RS exploits the new Ford Performance All-Wheel-Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring, which according to Ford, will “deliver a new level of handling capability and driver enjoyment, combining outstanding traction and grip with unmatched agility and cornering speed.”
Based on the new Focus, the RS features a new front-end appearance with a bold upper trapezoidal grille above the deep front splitter, incorporating the largest possible apertures for engine cooling. At the rear, there’s a distinctive rear roof spoiler and a fascia panel dominated by a large diffuser, which optimizes air flow from under the vehicle to reduce drag.
