Honda plans to reintroduce the S2000

Honda is planning to revive the famous S2000 roadster, according to fresh reports by the British media.

The S2000, famous for its powerful and high-revving naturally-aspirated engine, was killed off in 2009. However, Honda now reportedly wants to reintroduce the model by the year 2017 and with a four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine taken from the upcoming Civic Type R, which will develop around 350 horsepower.

The same sources suggest that McLaren, Honda’s soon-to-be Formula 1 partner, will help develop a Hybrid powertrain for the small roadster in order to improve power and fuel efficiency.
