Mercedes-Benz unveils 2014 SLS AMG Black Series

Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled its highly-anticipated 2014 SLS AMG Black Series which is set to go on sale in June 2013.

As expected from Mercedes’ Black Series models, the SLS AMG receives a power hike of 39 horsepower, bringing the total output to 622 horsepower compared to 583 horsepower on the standard SLS AMG GT.

The SLS AMG Black Series receives a raft of exterior modifications including a new front splitter, side skirts, a large rear diffuser, 20mm and 24mm wider front and rear tracks and 20-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels – all made from carbon fiber.

Thanks to Mercedes’ weight-saving measures and extensive use of carbon fiber, the Black Series version stands at 1550 kilograms, a full 70 kilograms less than the GT.

0-100 kph is in 3.6 seconds – slashing 0.2 seconds from the standard model – with a top speed of 315 kph. No information regarding prices or its first public appearance.
