Next-gen Nissan GT-R to have “brutal appearance”

In an interview with Autocar magazine, Nissan Executive Vice President Andy Palmer said that the next-generation Nissan GT-R will sport a “brutal appearance” when it debuts in 2017.

The highly-anticipated Japanese supercar will “be available with a hybrid powertrain“, added Palmer, which indicates that a non-hybrid version is also on the way. Palmer declined to elaborate but confirmed the company has indeed registered the R-Hybrid moniker.

“Godzilla”, as fanatics call it, will be joined by a successor to the 370Z; the new sports car will have “a normal version and a Nismo [version].” It is expected to be smaller than the 370Z and feature a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
