Peugeot unveils 208 R2 Rally car

Peugeot have introduced a rally version of their 208. Dubbed the ‘208 R2’, the car will compete in the FIA R2 Rally class.

It is powered by a 1.6L 4 cylinder engine with 185 horsepower mated to a five-speed sequential gearbox.

The 208 R2’s bodyshell is 40 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, the 207 R2, while the lighter gearbox offers quicker shifts. Improvements also include better gas mileage; a revised Öhlins suspension with three-way adjustable dampers; and more shared parts to enable faster changes between tarmac and gravel setups.
