April 2, 2015 – Subaru has taken the wraps off the BRZ STI Performance Concept during the 2015 New York International Auto Show this week.
According to Subaru, the STI Performance Concept is “a showcase for the engineering prowess and tuning capability of STI” and it features the same racing engine found in the BRZ Super GT racecar which develops around 300 hp and 447 Nm of torque. The suspension, chassis components and aerodynamic upgrades were also derived from the racecar.
Whether the BRZ STI will make it into production or not is unknown; what we do know is that the concept previews a plan for the expansion of Subaru Tecnica International (STI) in the United States, in its three core business areas; aftermarket parts, STI-tuned cars and motorsports.
