Track Battle: BMW M4 vs BMW M2

April 12, 2016 – Intra-family battles are always interesting as they reveal whether the more powerful and more expensive model is really worth the extra money. Motor Trend took the BMW M4 and BMW M2 to the racetrack to find out which one is the better sports car.

The M4 is the bigger and more powerful of the two, weighing 1593 kilograms and producing 425 horsepower/550 Nm of torque from a turbocharged six-cylinder engine, while the M2 weighs 1547 kilograms and generates 385 horsepower/521 Nm of torque from a similar engine. Both are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and both are rear-wheel drive.

Is the extra power worth it on the M4, or is the M2 a better package? Find out in the video below (You can skip to 4:22 for the track battle).
