August 5, 2015 – Power isn’t everything, and EVO Magazine’s new head-to-head between a Volkswagen Golf R and Audi RS3 proves it.
Both are all-wheel drive, but the Audi makes 367 horsepower from a turbocharged five-cylinder engine, whereas the Golf R produces 292 horsepower from a turbocharged four-cylinder. However, thanks to the added luxuries, the RS3 weighs 60 kilograms more than the Golf R.
Despite having a 75hp advantage, the Audi goes 0.5 seconds slower than the Volkswagen around the racetrack, so the cheaper and less powerful car wins. Watch the full video below.
