May 22, 2015 – New spy shots of the Volkswagen Golf R400 being tested on the Nürburgring confirm that the hyper-hatch, which was revealed in concept form last year, will indeed go into production.
The car undergoing testing at the famous German circuit looks like a standard Golf R, but it features bigger wheels, a rear wing and a subtle front lip spoiler. Further modifications are expected to appear on the car in the near future.
At the heart of the all-wheel drive Golf R400 will reside a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine developing more than 400 horsepower, which should help the mean machine accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in less than 4 seconds, when coupled to the VW’s DSG transmission.
