New Toyota Aygo X Hybrid Adds GR Sport Performance
Toyota’s smallest model outside Japan, the Aygo X, receives a major update for 2025—introducing hybrid power, a sportier GR Sport trim, and refreshed design elements. Originally a compact hatchback, the Aygo X transitioned into a crossover-inspired look in 2022. Now, it gets a new engine and a full hybrid system, setting it apart in Europe’s shrinking A-segment. The new hybrid setup replaces the old 1.0-liter engine with a 1.5-liter unit shared with the Yaris. This upgrade boosts output to 114 horsepower, significantly improving acceleration. The Aygo X now goes from 0 to 62 mph in under 10 seconds, down from nearly 15 seconds.
