Fadi Boustany carved his name in the history books this afternoon as he won the first ever Lebanese drifting round – part of the 2014 Lebanese Drifting Championship – that took place in Beirut Waterfront immediately after the first round of the 2014 Lebanese Speed Test Championship.
Boustany, who drove a BMW 330Ci, was voted winner of the event by a panel of judges consisting of Lebanese Rally Champions Abdo Feghali and Jean-Pierre Nasrallah, in addition to Gaby Hayek, Nabil Komboz, Gerard Sonal and Nabil Fakhry.
The judging process is based on several criteria including driving skills, clipping point, speed trap, car appearance, crowd reaction, tyre smoke and engine sound.
Second place went to Nissan 350Z driver and Red Bull Car Park Drift 2013 winner Jad Himo, while Bassam Zahalan, driving a BMW M3, settled for third place overall.
