Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has predictably topped the timesheets on the second free practice session of the 2014 Australian Grand Prix following a disastrous FP1 for the Briton whose car stopped on track. Hamilton clocked a 1:29.625 to put himself ahead of teammate Nico Rosberg who ended up second overall.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who lead the way in the first free practice session, found himself in P3 ahead of fourth quickest Sebastian Vettel who enjoyed a trouble free session for Red Bull.

The session witnessed several off-track moments for several drivers, most notably Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg and Lotus’ Romain Grosjean whose cars got stuck in gravel just minutes before the end of the session.
