March 17, 2016 – Aston Martin is returning to Formula 1 in 2016 via a new partnership with Red Bull Racing.
Red Bull and Aston Martin will collaborate on the production of a “next generation hypercar” to be designed by RBR’s chief technical officer Adrian Newey. The team will also carry Aston Martin logos on the nose and sidepods of its RB12 race car from the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
The British luxury sportscar maker previously held discussions with a number of other teams, including Williams and Force India, with talks eventually falling through with both teams.
Aston Martin had raced in the 1959 and 1960 Formula 1 seasons but failed to score points in either year.
