Abdo Feghali secured victory in the opening round of the 2014 Lebanese Speed Test Championship at the Beirut Waterfront this afternoon after beating Xavier Massaad to the fastest time.
Massaad surprised the spectators by setting the quickest time in Heat 1 (01:23.39), but Feghali fought back in Heat 2 and posted a sub 1:23 time to pip his rival by a slim margin.
Second place in the professional category went to Nemr Aslan, while Michel Zgheib ended up third. Massaad took the four-wheel drive prototype class victory, while Garo Haroutian won the rear-wheel drive prototype category.
Elias Ghanem claimed gold in the amateur cup, ahead of Charbel Ghanem and Mazen el Habr.
