Abdulaziz Turki Alfaisal returns to the 24 hours of Le Mans this year

After a disappointing race last year which saw him and his team-mates Sean Edwards and Bret Curtis retire in the ProSpeed Competition #75 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR; Abdulaziz Turki Alfaisal returns to the legendary 24 hours of Le Mans this year with JMW Motorsport.

ATF has had previous experiences in Le Mans. In 2011, he raced Proton’s #88 Porsche along with Nick Tandy and Bryce Miller, but the trio never made it to the finish line.

In 2012, the Saudi driver teamed up with one of Belgium’s most successful racing teams: ProSpeed Competition. Alfaisal managed to qualify a remarkable second place in the LM GTE Am category, but it all came to an end halfway into the race when he crashed the #75 Porsche, forcing the team to retire. The large amount of debris spread on the circuit lead to Alfaisal’s crash.

ATF returns to the 24-hour race this year with a new challenge and a new atmosphere; JMW Motorsport will help the Saudi achieve his first ever category win in the grueling French endurance race; he will be racing alongside Khaled Al Qubaisi and Andrea Bertollini with the JMW Racing Dunlop factory team.

JMW Motorsport will take part in the LM GTE Am class which is destined for cars that are at least one year old with only one Platinum or Gold driver included in the three-driver line-up.

The 24 hours of Le Mans weekend kicks off on Thursday, June 19 with free practice and qualifying, and ends on Sunday, June 23.
