June 4, 2016 – Lebanese Rally Champion Roger Feghali kicked off the Lebanese Hill Climb Championship season in style, claiming the overall victory in the opening round of the season today in Arsoun.
Driving a Mitsubishi Evo VI, Feghali completed the sprint in 1 minute 28.55 seconds, to finish just over 1 second clear of his closest pursuer, Mitsubishi Evo X driver Jawad Slim who finished second overall.
Michel Slaiby in the Evo VIII rounded the top 3, whilst Eddy Abou Karam secured the Group N class victory in his Evo X, finishing ahead of Rodolphe Asmar (Evo X) and Rodrigue Rahi (Evo IX), who claimed 2nd and 3rd respectively in the category.
Paul Kossaifi won the rear-wheel drive category in the BMW E46; Garo Haroutiounian (BMW E46) was second fastest, followed by Michel Zgheib (BMW E30).
Robert Aaraj clinched the win the front-wheel drive/RC3 class ahead of Bassel Abu Hamdan and Rony Kanaan – all of whom drove Citroen DS3 R3s.
Elie Hage (BMW E46) won the SM4 category and Hani Raad the SM6 category, while the SM3 class victory went to Richard Ibrahim (Renault Clio Williams). Patrick Njeim (Peugeot 208 R2) triumphed in the RC4 category, whilst his younger brother Matthias won in RC5 (Suzuki Swift Sport).
Lara Helou went home with the Ladies Cup, while Rodolphe Asmar won the Junior Cup.
