As previously reported, the Peugeot 208 T16 will be the car in which Peugeot returns to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb after 14 years of absence; it will be driven by nine-times world rally champion Sebastien Loeb.
Peugeot has now released technical specifications concerning the black race car which carries a 3.2-liter V6 engine producing 875 horsepower and weighs just 875 kilograms. All four wheels are driven via a six-speed sequential transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
The 208 T16 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.8 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 4.8 seconds and 0 to 240 km/h in 7 seconds.
The new race car shares its genes with those of the Le Mans 24 Hours-winning 908 in several areas, this includes the running gear, brakes and aerodynamic features like the air-intake and the spectacular two-metre wide rear wing which was originally used for the first-generation 908 HDi FAP.
