Roger Feghali snatches difficult victory in Falougha Hill Climb 2015

June 14, 2015 – Following their great battle in Deir El Qamar, the Feghali brothers resumed their fight for victory in the 2015 Falougha Hill Climb today, and it was Roger who eventually prevailed, beating Abdo by less than a second.

Similarly to Deir El Qamar, the two brothers traded blows throughout the event, with Abdo (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) having the upper hand in the first and second heats, but a mega effort by Roger (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI) in Heat 3 saw him clock 2:00.42, to beat his younger brother, who also improved on his third and final run, but his 2:01.35 was not enough for victory.

Michel Slaiby (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII) was the fastest behind the Feghali brothers, finishing third overall.

The Group N class witnessed superb competition between Eddy Abou Karam (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X) and Tamer Ghandour (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X), with Abou Karam holding the advantage in the first two heats, but he lost out to Ghandour by 0.63 seconds in the end. Rodrigue Rahi (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) finished 3rd in the class.

Garo Haroutiounian (BMW 330Ci) clinched the rear-wheel drive class ahead of Paul Kossaifi (BMW 330Ci) and Michel Zgheib (BMW 316i), while the front-wheel drive class triumph went to Robert Aaraj (Citroen DS3), who beat second- and third-place finishers Rony Kanaan (Renault Clio R3) and Richard Ibrahim (Renault Clio Williams) to the top step of the podium.

Results by Heat: Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3.
