March 5, 2016 – Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala took the Rally Mexico lead on the second day of the competition, which consisted of seven special stages, starting with SS4.
Latvala put in a dominant display as he set the quickest time in five of the seven special stages, whilst team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen and Sebastien Ogier took a single stage win each in SS6 and SS10 respectively.
Latvala now holds a healthy 32-second lead over Ogier; Hyundai’s Dani Sordo is third overall, followed by the third Volkswagen of Mikkelsen. Thierry Neuville, who was expected to fight in front, stopped on SS4 with a broken suspension after crashing the Hyundai.

Teemu Suninen leads Nicolas Fuchs by a massive 7min 06.1sec in WRC 2, while Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari lies third in the category.
