Hyundai has put the i20 WRC challenger, with which it plans to tackle the 2014 World Rally Championship, to its first test in Europe last week.
The car, unveiled for the first time back in September, was flown to Germany for two days of testing at a facility outside of Frankfurt, with work on the Rally car commencing soon.
“We realized there was nothing since Paris, which is why we wanted to organize everything to fly the car into Europe to show what we have done and the direction we are moving in.” said a Hyundai spokesman.
Following their withdrawal from the World Rally Championship in 2003, the Korean manufacturer officially announced its return to the sport during the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
The Korean firm will be announcing further developments at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013.
