July 5, 2015 – Lebanese rally driver Nicolas Amiouni enjoyed a positive weekend in the seventh round of the 2015 World Rally Championship in Poland, finishing seventh in the DMACK Fiesta Trophy.
Despite losing more than 5 minutes in the fourth special stage after being stuck on a ditch on Friday, Amiouni and co-driver Joseph Matar fought on to reach the chequered flag seventh in the Ford Fiesta R2 on Sunday, which is a great result for the pair who were unlucky in the previous round in Portugal.
“The stages here in Poland are super fun and I love driving in these fast stages. After the incident on stage four I knew we would struggle to get back into contention but I pushed all the same. Maybe I overdid it in places and I need to work on restraint when speed is concerned – but we still continued to learn a lot from this rally.” said Nicolas Amiouni at the end of the rally.
Nicolas Amiouni and Joseph Matar’s next DMACK Fiesta Trophy appearance will be in Finland, which is the eighth round of the World Rally Championship and is scheduled on July 30.
