Rally Germany 2013: Latvala pulls clear

After increasing his lead to 7.3 seconds on Friday afternoon, Jari-Matti Latvala pulled further clear of his M-Sport Ford rival Thierry Neuville on Saturday morning. The Finn now holds a 14.8-second advantage over the second-placed Belgian.

Dani Sordo remains in contention for the win as he’s just 9 seconds behind Neuville in third place overall and almost a minute ahead of Citroen team-mate Mikko Hirvonen who’s struggled to keep up with the front runners so far.

Martin Prokop maintains sixth position behind fifth-placed Mads Ostberg, while Nasser Al-Attiyah‘s hopes of a points finish were gone when he cut a corner and hit something which broke a steering arm on his Ford Fiesta RS. The Qatari driver retired on the spot.

Despite crashing out yesterday, Sebastien Ogier managed to go quickest of all on two of Saturday morning’s three special stages. He’s down in 28th.
