Thierry Neuville was leading the rally after SS4, but a mechanical problem on his i20 WRC cost him more than 20 minutes on the first loop’s final stage (SS5), while his teammate Juho Hanninen, who was running second, rolled a stager earlier.
Mads Ostberg lies in second place overall, just 2 seconds off Latvala, with Martin Prokop third, followed by Andreas Mikkelsen, Robert Kubica and Sebastien Ogier.
Thursday’s Super Special Stage winner Mikko Hirvonen retired with his Ford Fiesta RS WRC catching fire on SS4.
