2014 Rally Mexico: Ogier takes command

Sebastien Ogier has taken command of Rally Mexico following a string of fastest times coupled with drama for his competitors. Ogier was 3.3 seconds behind Ostberg at the end of SS5, but turned that into a 26-second advantage on the afternoon stages.

Mikko Hirvonen, Kris Meeke and Robert Kubica all had their share of bad luck, with Hirvonen suffering a mechanical failure in his Fiesta on SS8, Citroen’s Meeke a broken suspension on the same stage and M-Sport’s Kubica rolling out of fourth on the penultimate superspecial.

Jari Matti Latvala benefited from the situation to move into P3, with Elfan Evyns behind in fourth place as Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville breathes down his neck with just 1 second between the two.
