February 13, 2015 – Volkswagen’s Andreas Mikkelsen has taken the Rally Sweden 2015 lead in Day 1’s afternoon loop as his leading teammates Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala both faltered.
Ogier lost 38 seconds when he hit a snow bank in SS9, dropping from 1st to 4th overall, while Jari-Matti Latvala went off on a corner 500 meters from the finish and lost more than 8 minutes.
Andreas Mikkelsen sits on top of the general standings, 19 seconds ahead of Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville, who’s in turn just 0.9 seconds in front of Citroen’s Mads Ostberg.
