September 6, 2015 – Roger Feghali has extended his Rally of Lebanon record to 12 victories following a dominant performance that saw him score the fastest time in 12 of the rally’s 13 special stages.
Roger and co-driver Joseph Matar lost 8 seconds to Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah in Friday’s super special stage, but he shaved off 3 seconds from the Dakar winner’s time after Saturday’s opening stage in Blat (SS2). However, Al-Attiyah crashed his Skoda Fabia R5 in the third special stage in Toula, which put Roger in a comfortable position to win the rally.
Driving a Ford Fiesta R5, Roger completed the event more than 6 minutes ahead of his closest pursuer, Nicolas Amiouni (Mitsubishi Evo X), who finished second overall and first in the Group N category.
Tamer Ghandour (Mitsubishi Evo X) completed the podium by finishing third overall and second in Group, while Rodrigue Rahi (Mitsubishi Evo IX) settled for fourth and third in Group N.
The front-wheel drive class victory went to Robert Aaraj (Citroen DS3 R3T), who ended up fifth overall, ahead of Eddy Abou Karam (Mitsubishi Evo IX). Rony Kanaan and Elie Nehme finished second and third respectively in FWD.
Nassib Nassar won the RC4 class onboard his Peugeot 208 R2, while Majed Khoury (Skoda Fabia R2) finished second in the class.
The young Patrick Njeim was capable of finishing his first ever Rally of Lebanon, taking the RC5 class win onboard the Suzuki Swift Sport.
