Motocross races in Lebanon have not proved to be a familiar issue for all fans and enthusiasts in this country but this year this fact has changed completely. After the successful launch of the LMC back in the spring 2 other races took place and things are really progressing.
Yesterday we were covering the third race of the season that took place in Kfarabeeda. The track was built on the highest standards possible and race was hosted by one of the contestants who are participating in the championship this year, Mr. Rafic Eid. The race that is organized by the LMC and Ziad Karanouh saw some changes this time around, after shifting from a fixed number of laps format to a more professional approach by using a number a time limit similar to the ways those events are organized professionally. The event was divided like always into 2 categories, the 250 cc and the 450 cc. Both categories got 10 min each for warm up and practice and then drove 2 races each. The races were composed of 13 minutes of continues battles and saw a lot of competition. The 450 cc races saw a fierce battle between Hassan Osman, Rafik Eid, Ahmad Hassan and Jean Paul Khlat, while the 250 cc Category saw a big battle between Ahmad Khawaja, Omar Khawaja and Edmond Sassine.
After the first 450 cc race and on his way to the box after the last lap Ahmad Hassan suffered a minor leg injury when his bike fell on his leg inside turn 2. In general the race was very exciting and saw the presence of a lot of fans coming from all over the country. At the end of the event Kfarabeeda municipality VP MR. Maroun Shakour was present to deliver the trophies. The event was sponsored by Reebok and commercial insurance and was also supported by the exceptional presence of Red Bull as always.
