2012 European GP FP2 results: Vettel puts Red Bull on top

Double-world champion Sebastian Vettel went quickest for Red Bull after setting a laptime of 1:39.334 during the second practice session of the 2012 European Grand Prix in Valencia. The German was followed by Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg in 2nd.

Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi clocked the 3rd fastest time ahead Mercedes’ Michael Schumacher and Williams’ Bruno Senna who were 4th and 5th respectively.

Paul Di Resta was 6th – a strong showing by the Force India team, with the best of the Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso right behind in 7th.

Romain Grosjean’s Lotus crossed the checkered flag in 8th position, followed by Mark Webber in the Red Bull and Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes.

Both McLaren drivers had a low-key session as Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton ended up outside the top 10 in 12th and 14th.
