2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton scored his third and McLaren’s fifth win of the season after a dominating performance at the Italian Grand Prix. Hamilton managed to keep his lead into Turn 1, and hold a big enough gap to secure some valuable championship points.
Sergio Perez put on one of his best drives so far this season as he came home in second place after overtaking both Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa who finished 3rd and 4th respecitvely.
Red Bull had a catastrophic Sunday with both drivers retiring after Sebastian Vettel had suffered an alternator failure while teammate Mark Webber spun out in Sector 3 and crawled back into the pits.
