We are only a few miles away from the beginning of the summer and this means the automotive world is preparing its annual explosion of convertible rides. Mercedes has done its homework, with the 2012 SLK already being offered for sale. Thus, it is now time for tuners to target the vehicles and offer us various options for making the car truly belong to its owner.
Piecha Design has recently introduced the Accurian RS, a modification pack for the 2012 SLK.
The kit targets the car’s exterior with modifications that enhance both its looks and aerodynamics, also being fitted with LED daytime running lights
Currently, we can only see the upgrades through its visuals, but soon we would be able to see something new in its pocket. However, one thing is clear that Piecha is working already on a power kit which will be used for the 2012 SLK.
As we are fans of anything that makes a car go faster, we’ll start with the latter part. Piecha Design redefined the SLK’s connection to the road, installing a lowered suspension that brings the car 25 mm closer to the road, influencing the cornering as well as the looks of the car. The vehicle now rides on a set of 19-inch MP1 monobloc high-tech rims that measures its front axle at 8.5×19 and rear at 10.5×19 and use 225/35 tires for the front axle and 275/30 tires for the rear one.
Besides these, if we see the rear features, a new bumper that has an integrated diffuser and a boot lid spoiler has been added to fulfill the list. What is new to the car, making it even more attractive are the QUADRO 4 tailpipes mufflers and a new sport exhaust system.
In addition to that, the car has received lateral grids, a front spoiler lip along with extended side skirt covers with optional LED lighting units on the side sills
The company is yet to disclose its new program’s price info, but one can make some speculations about the 2012 Mercedes SLK program through its features.
Last but not least, the tuner also offers a roof lowering control module which enables the hardtop to be operated at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph).
