2012 WRC Rally Catalunya Day 2: Loeb in control

Sebastien Loeb has taken control of the Rally Catalunya on Day 2’s afternoon leg by expanding his lead from rival Jari-Matti Latvala to 27 seconds. The Frenchman was second quickest to a blisteringly quick Dani Sordo in all of the afternoon’s stages.

Mads Ostberg’s lack of speed continued as the Adapta Ford driver lost two positions to first Citroen’s Mikko Hirvonen and second M-Sport Ford’s Ott Tanak; The Norwegian goes into the final day 2.6 seconds behind Tanak.

WRC newcomer Hans Weijs is clinching onto seventh place overall, followed by Craig Breen and Evgeny Novikov who’s been experiencing a topsy-turvy Spanish rally so far.

Jarkko Nikara and Per-Gunnar Andersson conclude the top 10 for today.
