2013 Rally Sweden – Day 2: Ogier in the lead

After snatching the lead from Sebastien Loeb this morning, Sebastien Ogier managed to extend his lead to 32.2 seconds over his compatriot on the day’s afternoon stages.

Unable to keep up with the Volkswagen driver, Sebastien Loeb has been in battle with Ogier’s teammate Jari-Matti Latvala who lost second position to the Frenchman after an intercom problem. The Finn is only 1.5 seconds behind Loeb.

With only one superspecial stage remaining for this evening, Ogier goes into the third day with an almost certain lead.

Mads Ostberg is in fourth place, only nine seconds behind Latvala, and is ready to join the fight for second-place, while teammate Evgeny Novikov holds fifth place, almost one minute behind the leading driver.

Citroen drivers Dani Sordo and Mikko Hirvonen are both out of contention for points; the former having drifted off course on SS6, while the latter rolled out from fifth place this morning.
