Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg topped the timesheets on the opening free practice for the Belgian Grand Prix as Formula 1 returned today after a 3-week break. Rosberg posted a 1min 51.577sec lap around Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps to beat his teammate Lewis Hamilton by 0.097s. Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was the fastest man behind the two Mercedes, finishing 0.2 seconds off the lead.
