2014 Belgian Grand Prix Results

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo took his third career victory at the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix this afternoon. Ricciardo made a crucial pass on teammate Sebastian Vettel and benefited from a collision between the two Mercedes drivers to win the race.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton made a great start and managed to pass his pole-sitting teammate to take the lead, but the pair made contact when the latter tried to overtake on the outside of turn 7. Rosberg’s front wing got damaged while Hamilton’s rear right tyre got punctured and ended his chances of a victory.

Ricciardo overtook his teammate Sebastian Vettel when the world champion committed a mistake on turn 12; the Australian then chased Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes and took advantage of a slow stop – with a nose change – for the German to take the lead. He was left unchallenged throughout the race.

Williams’ Valtteri Bottas drove another fantastic race to finish on the podium ahead of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen who scored his best result of the year so far by finishing fourth ahead of Sebastian Vettel, Kevin Magnusssen and Jenson Button.
