The first spy shots of the upcoming BMW 2 Series model have recently surfaced on the internet showing a camouflaged convertible variant with a soft top.
BMW is expected to launch the new 2 Series family – a spin-off from the 1 Series – in 2013. 2 Series models will include a coupe and a convertible model.
The 2 Series variants will be based on their 1 Series siblings while carrying on the same powerplants, including four inline-four petrol engines and an inline-six.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission; BMW is also offering an optional DCT on the high-performance 235i and M235i models.
