Lewis Hamilton’s dominance over the Italian Grand Prix weekend continued as the Mercedes driver clocked the fastest time on Saturday’s Qualifying session, beating his teammate Nico Rosberg to pole position by 0.2 seconds. Hamilton lapped the Monza Circuit in 1 minute 24.109 seconds, 0.4 seconds shy of Sebastian Vettel’s 2013 pole lap.
Behind the two Mercedes W05s were the two Williams of Valterri Bottas and Felipe Massa who set the third and fastest laptimes respectively, followed by the two McLarens of Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso will start tomorrow’s race from P7 ahead of Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo.
