Marc Marquez secured his fourth consecutive victory in the 2014 MotoGP season this afternoon in Jerez.
Marquez, who qualified on pole, lost the lead to Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi on the opening lap, but the Honda rider retook the position and never looked back, leading by as much as five seconds.
Rossi eventually finished second after fending off pressure from team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, who’s fading pace saw him lost third place to Honda’s Dani Pedrosa. Lorenzo settled for P4.
