2014 Lebanese Karting Championship – Round 3 Results – Junior

Christopher Njeim has once again showed a dominant performance by taking a third straight victory in the Junior class during the third round of the 2014 Lebanese Karting Championship.

Njeim won a comfortable pre-final race. However, his lead was under heavy threat from Christophe Njeim throughout the final race, but the latter simply could not overtake and eventually settled for second place.

Christopher said: “It was a close race, and I was kind of struggling with the car, I was losing the back a lot, which made it easier for others to put pressure on me, but I managed to pull through.”

Meanwhile, Christophe Rizk commented: “It is always hard to overtake Christopher, he has a lot of experience. I managed to get past him once, but he retook the position shortly after. It was a great race overall, much better than the previous rounds. The car has improved a lot and so did I.”

Serge Antypas started the pre-final race in fifth place, but managed to climb his way up to third position; he maintained the position in the final race to secure his first podium of the season.

“I started fifth in the pre-final race, overtook Kevin [Kanaan] at the start and then I got past Rashed [Ghanem] near the end of the race. I managed to pull away in the final race and finish where I started. It was hard to keep up with the two guys ahead because my tyres got colder.” said a happy Antypas.

Unable to keep up with Antypas, Rashed Ghanem finished fourth ahead of Kevin Kanaan, Karl Atie, Jason Akl and Carl Rizk.
