2014 Russian Grand Prix Race Results

Mercedes AMG secured its first ever Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship as its two drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg finished first and second respectively at the sixteenth round of the 2014 season in Russia.

Hamilton, who started the race from pole position, was challenged by his team mate Rosberg on the start, but the latter heavily locked his tyres into turn 2 and damaged them as a result, which forced him to pit for new mediums on the first lap.

This handed Lewis Hamilton an easy victory, while Rosberg battled his way up the field to finish second ahead of Williams’ Valtteri Bottas who couldn’t catch Rosberg who was on 52-old-lap tyres at the end of the race.

McLaren enjoyed a good race at the Russian circuit, with team mates Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen completing the race in fourth and fifth ahead of Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who fended off pressure from Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo near the end of the race to take sixth.
