The 2014 World Car of the Year awards have been announced at the New York International Auto Show this week, with Germany claiming all five categories, including Performance Car of the Year, Luxury Car of the Year, Green Car of the Year, Car Design of the Year and the World Car of the Year.
The 69-member jury named the Audi A3 as the 2014 World Car of the Year (You thought it was going to be the Ferrari 458 Speciale, didn’t you?), the Mercedes S-Class as World Luxury Car and the Porsche 911 GT3 as World Performance Car, while BMW’s all-electric i3 received the awards for World Green Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.
