2014 WRC Rally Monte Carlo: Ogier in the lead at the end of day 2

Sebastien Ogier has taken the 2014 Monte Carlo Rally on Friday’s afternoon loop; the Frenchman went quickest on SS9 and SS10, losing only to his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala on SS11, he also benefited from a spin for Bryan Bouffier.

Bouffier’s spin, which occurred on the ninth stage and cost him 11 seconds, combined with a slow stage time on SS11, put him in second place overall, more than 50 seconds behind the leader.

Citroen’s Kris Meeke lies in third place overall, followed by teammate Mads Ostberg, while Jari-Matti Latvala sits in fifth place overall, separated by 6 minutes from his Volkswagen teammate.

Robert Kubica’s assault on the Monte Carlo Rally came to an end on SS9 when he crashed his Ford Fiesta RS WRC; the Pole was running fourth overall and locked in a battle for third with Meeke.
