2015 Austrian Grand Prix Race Results

June 21, 2015 – Nico Rosberg secured a dominant win during the eighth round of the 2015 Formula 1 championship in Austria this afternoon after leading from the very first lap and until the end.

Rosberg dueled with his pole-sitting teammate Lewis Hamilton on the first lap, and the German was able to get past just moments before the safety car came in due to a collision between Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen and McLaren’s Fernando Alonso after the former lost control of his car.

Once the safety car came in, Rosberg was able to control the race, with Hamilton taking a 5-second penalty for crossing the white line on the pit exit, but he had a comfortable gap to Williams’ Felipe Massa and was therefore able to finish second.

Sebastian Vettel could’ve enjoyed an easy third place for Ferrari if it weren’t for a pit stop blunder that cost him precious seconds and let Felipe Massa through to take the final podium spot, while the German settled for fourth place ahead of the second Williams of Valtteri Bottas.

Nico Hulkenberg drove a solid race for Force India and finished sixth, ahead of Lotus’ Pastor Maldonado and Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen.
