2015 Barcelona F1 Test – Day 2: Ricciardo sets the pace

February 20, 2015 – Red Bull topped the timesheets for the first time this winter as its Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo set the fastest lap on the second day of testing Barcelona.

Ricciardo lapped the Spanish circuit in 1 minute 24.574 seconds, beating Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen to the top by just 0.010 seconds, with Williams’ Felipe Massa third overall, 0.098 seconds behind the leader.

Mercedes clocked the biggest number of laps today, with Nico Rosberg driving 66 laps in the morning and his teammate world champion Lewis Hamilton managing 89 laps in the afternoon. Hamilton was the quickest of the two, settling for fifth place behind Force India’s Sergio Perez.

McLaren enjoyed an almost trouble-free day for the first time this winter, with Fernando Alonso completing 56 laps and ending up in seventh place, ahead of Jolyon Palmer’s Lotus.
