2015 Barcelona F1 Test – Day 4: Grosjean keeps Lotus on top

February 22, 2015 – Romain Grosjean set the fastest laptime on the fourth and final day of the second Formula 1 pre-season test in Barcelona today to keep his Lotus team on top of the timesheet.

The Frenchman set the best time of the week so far, a 1 minute 24.067 seconds laptime on the super-soft Pirellis, but it was Nico Rosberg who was most impressive, managing a 1 minute 24.321 seconds on the medium tyres, which are believed to be 1.5 to 2 seconds slower than the super softs.

Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat was the third quickest driver, followed by Sauber’s Felipe Nasr, Williams’ Valtteri Bottas and Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz who crashed his car in the afternoon.

McLaren had yet another difficult day, with Fernando Alonso crashing the Honda-powered car; the Spaniard was transferred to a nearby hospital to undergo precautionary checks.
