June 7, 2015 – Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton secured his fourth victory of the 2015 Formula 1 season today in Canada after dominating the race from start to finish.
Hamilton maintained his lead at the start of the race, before taking control and fending off his teammate Nico Rosberg who never got close enough to get past, and therefore settling for second place, 2.2 seconds behind the Briton.
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen looked set for a comfortable third place, but the Finn spun after his first pit stop, which allowed Williams’ Valtteri Bottas through into final podium spot, while the Iceman eventually had to settle for fourth place ahead of his teammate Sebastian Vettel who fought his way up from 18th on the grid.
Williams’ Felipe Massa enjoyed a trouble-free race to climb from 15th to 6th, with Lotus’ Pastor Maldonado taking 7th, followed by Nico Hulkenberg, Daniil Kvyat and Romain Grosjean.
It was a disastrous race for McLaren, as both Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button retired with mechanical failures.
