July 26, 2015 – Sebastian Vettel took his second victory of the 2015 season in a dramatic Hungarian Grand Prix today that saw both Mercedes cars finish off the podium.
Vettel and teammate Raikkonen made brilliant starts and managed to overtake the Mercedes pair for first and second, but a mid-race MGU-K failure for Raikkonen forced him out of the race, while an error-strewn drive for Hamilton, including going off track on the first lap and crashing into Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo later in the race, saw him finish 6th.
Rosberg was on course to finish second behind Vettel, but he suffered from a puncture after a late-race collision with Ricciardo, thus dropping to eighth place in the end.
Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat finished second, ahead of teammate Daniel Ricciardo who salvaged third place despite his on-track incidents with the Mercedes drivers.
Fernando Alonso secured McLaren’s best ever result this season with fifth place, finishing behind Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen.
