Exterior: 5/5

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is an elegant executive car that comes in different shapes and sizes. For 2015, there are the Sedan and the Estate models, but there is a Coupe coming in the near future. The C-Class is a looker, with the design taken straight from the larger S-Class; the two main exterior trims are Avantgarde and Exclusive, the latter is the classier of the two, featuring a different front grille design with a the star emblem protruding from the front bonnet. Overall, the C-Class is beautifully-designed car.

Interior: 5/5

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a gorgeous cabin and first-rate materials that put rivals like the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series to shame. The family sedan seats five, and it’s easy to get comfortable just about anywhere in the car as it offers good legroom and headroom for all occupants; it’s also very quiet and relaxing inside. Standard features in the new C-Class include a leather interior, power-adjustable front seats with driver position memory and a power tilt, telescoping steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a DAB digital radio and a seven-inch display screen.

Performance: 5/5

The 2015 C-Class comes in three different trims: C180 with a 1.6-liter engine that produces 156 horsepower, C200 with a 2.0-liter engine with 184 horsepower and C250 with a 2.0-liter engine that pushes out 211 horsepower. A six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic can be fitted to the car. If most of your driving is in the city, then the C180 or C200 are more than enough, but if you’re outside the city, the C250 will definitely be more suited. The C-Class was not designed to be sporty or agile like a 3 Series, it’s a super comfortable car that’s all about the luxurious driving experience. You want sporty? There’s the 470-hp C63 AMG and 500-hp C63 S AMG.

Safety: 5/5

The new C-Class was awarded a maximum five-star rating by the Euro NCAP and IIHS crash tests thanks to a raft of safety features that include Attention Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, Lane Departure Warning, a tyre-pressure monitor, automatic headlights, cruise control, a reversing camera and, of course, a full range of airbags. Mercedes has enjoyed solid reliability in recent years and it ranks as one of the best brands, so that should be good news for C-Class owners.
